The Signal Hill School Enhancement Society is:
- A not-for-profit organization, incorporated under the Society’s Act of Alberta.
- A Registered Charity under Canada Revenue Agency.
- Required to file annual financial returns to various regulatory agencies.
The purpose of Signal Hill School Enhancement Society is to provide support of the educational needs for the students attending Battalion Park School. The Signal Hill Enhancement Society is separate from Parent Council, but we both work together in supporting the school and its students.
The main fundraiser of the Society involves a casino administered through AGLC, which occurs about every two years. The AGLC funds collected have disbursement restrictions, meaning the funds are only allowed to go towards student educational experiences and equipment. This includes field trips, residencies, iPads, chrome books, smart-boards, musical instruments and physical education enhancements.
